Troubleshooting guide

Question – I’m getting a USB device error when trying to connect the iflash device to my pc.
Answer – Please uninstall the iflash software, restart pc, plug in the iflash device into another USB port and reinstall the software. If this does not work, follow this guide on booting windows into unsigned driver mode. https://support.viewsonic.com/en/support/solutions/articles/33000252416-how-to-install-unsigned-drivers-in-windows-10

Question – You emailed me a Movie file and it will not open
Answer – The file that was sent is short for Modified file, you need to open it with the iflash app.

Question – I got an error when trying to flash, “error 9999” or unable to id ecu
Answer – Make sure you have the car in accessory mode. In an e90 make sure to press in the key and press the start/stop button twice with your foot off the brake. This will display the check engine light and a few other dummy lights on the cluster.

Question – I need to flash my ECU back to stock, or I have bricked my ECU what do I do?
Answer – Your stock ECU file will be the key to restoring the ECU back to stock. Make sure you keep a copy of this file. Make sure when flashing back to stock you have the car in accessory mode, select recovery in the main menu (unless you are flashing back to stock, select program ecu memory). Allow the app to do its job, this can take a bit.
